How much does a hot air balloon flight cost near Barcelona?+
Three packages, three price points: the Classic Flight is €249 per person, the Premium Flight is €299 per person, and the VIP Deluxe Flight for 2 is €1,799 for a private balloon just for your pair. All three cover the same 60-minute sunrise flight, launched from the same field near Sallent.
Do the hot air balloons fly over Barcelona city itself?+
No, and that's true of hot air balloon flights everywhere, not just ours. Balloons need open countryside to launch and land safely, so we fly from Pla de Bages near Sallent, about 45 minutes outside the city, over vineyards and farmland with Montserrat close enough to study and the Pyrenees on the horizon on clear mornings.
What happens to my booking if the weather turns bad?+
Your pilot makes that call for safety reasons, usually the evening before or early on the morning of your flight. If we cancel, you're automatically rebooked for the next available date at no charge, with no action needed from you, and Premium or VIP guests get priority when rebooking. Need to change your own plans instead? Just give us 5 days' notice and rescheduling is free too.
Is there a minimum height or age to fly in a hot air balloon?+
You'll need to be at least 1.20 meters tall, and children from around 6 years old can fly as long as an accompanying adult is with them. Pregnant passengers are asked not to fly, for safety reasons.
What should I wear on a hot air balloon flight near Barcelona?+
Dress in layers. Mornings at the launch field are cold even in summer, and the temperature climbs fast once the sun's up. Flat, closed-toe shoes and a cap are worth packing too, while heels and loose scarves are best left at the hotel.
How long does the whole hot air balloon experience take, from pickup to drop-off?+
Plan on 3.5 to 4 hours door to door. That covers the drive out to Pla de Bages, coffee and your safety briefing while the balloon inflates, the hour-long flight itself, and the toast and certificate presentation once you've landed.
How long am I actually in the air during the flight?+
Around 60 minutes airborne, drifting over the vineyards and farmhouses of the Bages countryside. That's the same flight time on all three packages; what changes between them is the group size and what's arranged for you on the ground before and after.
Will I be sharing the balloon basket with strangers, or can I book it privately?+
It depends which flight you book. The Classic Flight shares a basket with up to 16 passengers, the Premium Flight caps that at 10 for more room to move, and the VIP Deluxe Flight for 2 is a private balloon carrying only your pair.
How do I book, and how quickly will I get confirmation?+
Fill in the form on any page with your name, email, phone, preferred package, date and group size. We confirm by email or WhatsApp, normally the same day. Our team is reachable daily from 07:00 to 19:00, so questions rarely sit unanswered for long.
Can I buy a hot air balloon flight as a gift for someone else?+
Yes. A gift voucher works for any of the three packages, stays valid for 12 months, and lets the person you're gifting pick their own date once they're ready to fly. There's no self-serve booking portal involved; they message us by email or WhatsApp when the time comes.
What's the best time of year to fly, and do you operate all year round?+
We fly sunrise flights year-round, weather permitting, so there's no fixed season to plan around. What matters more than the month is the morning itself: your pilot checks wind and visibility close to your date, which is why the go or no-go call comes the evening before or that same morning, whatever time of year you book.
What will I actually see from the balloon during the flight?+
Montserrat's jagged peaks sit close enough to make out real detail, not just a distant outline. Below you, the Bages countryside unfolds in vineyards, farmhouses and the odd medieval village, and on a clear morning the snow-capped Pyrenees show up along the horizon too.
Is it safe to fly in a hot air balloon, and are the pilots licensed?+
Every flight is flown by AESA-licensed pilots, trained and certified through Spain's national aviation authority. You'll get a full safety briefing before boarding, and if conditions aren't right on the day, your pilot won't fly. Safety decides the schedule, not the booking calendar.
What's the real difference between the Classic, Premium and VIP Deluxe flights?+
The flight itself doesn't change: same launch site, same hour in the air, same pilots. What separates them is the basket size, whether transfers are included, and what's waiting for you on landing — cava for Classic, champagne and priority rescheduling for Premium, and a fully private balloon with a dedicated crew member for VIP Deluxe.
Is a hot air balloon flight a good idea for kids and families?+
It can be, as long as your children meet the height and age guidelines: at least 1.20 meters tall and roughly 6 years old or up, flying with an accompanying adult. Families booking the Classic or Premium Flight share the basket with other guests, so it suits kids who are comfortable standing among a small group for the hour.
